NOVAT in English
For a year, Naistenkartano has a wonderful opportunity to offer English-language group activities. This year, we are launching English-speaking peer support groups that you can participate in at least until spring 2025
We extend a heartfelt invitation to all women to join our peer support group. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore self-discovery, gain fresh perspectives, and connect with fellow participants. Our group operates with clear structure and shared practices, which we introduce during our first session together.
What You’ll Find
- Reflection and Connection: This is a space where you can contemplate your own life, actively listen to others, and experience those “aha” moments. Discussions often include:
- How am I feeling right now?
- What aspects of my life do I wish to change?
- How do I typically react when different emotions and thoughts come up?
- What are my relationships like?
- What do I need and where are my boundaries?
- What aspects of my life can I influence?
- What brings me joy?
- Authenticity and Respect: We encourage you to be true to yourself. In this judgment-free zone, there’s no advice or criticism—just acceptance.
- Equal Voices: Everyone has an equal chance to share. We value each person’s unique perspective and provide ample room for meaningful contributions.
Diverse Paths, Shared Journey
- Our group comprises women from various life situations and backgrounds. Remember to express your own experiences and listen compassionately to others.
What to Expect
- Each meeting centers around a specific topic, accompanied by a brief introduction and reflection questions.
- We emphasise sharing personal experiences and active listening, rather than providing advice or ready-made solutions.
- Our facilitator actively ensures fair participation and strictly upholds our community guidelines to create a safer space. Detailed guidelines are available on our website, designed to ensure everyone feels valued and respected. We highly encourage revisiting these guidelines to fully embrace and contribute to our supportive community.
Who Should Attend
- All women interested in self-discovery and seeking support in their daily lives.
- Peer groups are particularly beneficial when issues haven’t yet escalated to crisis levels.
- If you’re unsure about participating due to personal resources, please reach out to our NOVAT Programme Facilitator.
Your Choice, Your Story
- Each woman decides what aspects of her life to explore within the group and how much to share with others.
- While our peer support doesn’t replace professional help or therapy, it complements your journey alongside other resources.
Join us and become part of a nurturing community where every woman’s journey is honoured and celebrated.
